Reflections Retreat

Jeri Howe, author of Kamea, is offering a four session retreat on the themes of Kamea.
Session 1: Identify our old “Mirror Messages”
Session 2: Compare those “Mirror Messages” with the truth of God’s Word.
Session 3: Exchange Old False “Mirror Messages” for the New Mirror of God’s Word.
Session 4: Maintain our New True Mirrors
The Reflections Retreat is a time of being transformed and refreshed by the renewing of our minds. (Romans 12:2) It complements the Kamea novel and Journey Guide study, but will also be valuable to attendees who have not gone through the study.
During the retreat we will identify what is forming our sense of identity. What informs us of our worth? Of our purpose? Of our destiny? We will pause and take the time to think about what we are thinking about! Then we will take our thoughts prisoner, capturing them on paper, and then compare them to what the Word of God says about our identity.
Next, we will come before the Lord and ask Him to help us exchange the flawed, incomplete, faulty image that we've had of ourselves with how He sees us. We will end our retreat, by discussing strategies for maintaining our new found sense of identity in Christ and how to navigate the foreseeable struggles with identity in our future.
The reflections retreat includes the 4 sessions of teaching, and assignments to be completed on our own in between sessions. There is also an optional creative activity. It is ideal for either:
but may also be accomplished in an all-day Saturday retreat.
